Hey y’all, how are you doing? Know it’s been a while. What the f*ck hell been going on you say? Everything. I’ve been keeping it low key this summer. A few trips to the beach with my boo, dog park with my Vivi and throwing down in the kitchen. Still running from a domestic violence offender I saw a a few times in 2011. Chile. There’s a lot of R. Kelly’s out there, the police turn often turn a blind eye and expect women and children to fend for themselves until there’s some kind of public outcry.

Five New Statement Summer Handbags

So, summer is upon is with record breaking heat adviseries and hurricanes/tropical storms. If it weren’t for a bit of rain here in South Florida, we would all be frying. But, the beach and the pools are always there for us to cool off. I found a few handbags that are perfect for this summer and are of neutral color. They all would make a fabulous statement with your outfit! Check out more below.

Alexander Wang at Art Basel Miami Beach
This weekend I went down to Miami for Art Basel Miami Beach. It was an amazing show full of beautiful paintings, sculptures, champagne and even oysters. I wore a grey Alexander Wang dress (similar here), my grey Alexander Wang handbag (similar and on sale here) and vintage grey Lanvin metallic sneakers. It was cool down in Miami this weekend so I also wore my Veda leather jacket while outside.
If you love art and haven’t seen my artwork, click here. Prints are available for purchase if you fall in love with any of them. Maybe next year I will show with a gallery. Anyway, check out more great artwork from Art Basel below!

Rainbow Sketch and Paula Cademartori Tatiana Bag

So, there are plenty of multicolored accessories this Spring/Summer 2016 season. I recently did an oil pastel sketch of a rainbow contrasted with rain. You know what they say, when it rains it pours but the sun has to come out eventually.
This Paula Cademartori Tatiana Bag has some of the same colors in the rainbow. She has a number of brightly colored accessories for the season. Check out the bag in the Fashion Shop and bring on the color!

Sequined Lips, The New Vivrant Beauty Shop and Gift Bag Giveaway
Recently, I stopped by the new Vivrant Beauty Shop in Harlem for a quick look-through. I met Desiree, owner, who explained to me that most of her products are from black-owned companies. Her shop is full of products for women of color too and I just wanted to grab a handful of the stuff and try it! Brands like Briogeo, Helli Coily, Soultanicals and Oyin all are sold at the store. Most of them are natural products, free of toxic ingredients which is really important.
I wore my sequined lips t-shirt, a play off the Markus Lupfer shirts and a pair of ripped jeans (these Treasure & Bond are cool and these Current/Elliott). I paired it with vintage Manolo Blahnik grey booties and my Alexander Wang grey handbag (similar here).
So, we’re giving away a beauty gift bag! It’s full of beauty goodness: Girl Hair products, Eden Bodyworks Coco Shea Berry Natural Moisture Milk and Natural Smoothing Gel, Mario Badescu Skin Care Line, the most amazing soap from Flo + Theo, and other samples. Simply like our Facebook page, leave a comment on what you think about the shop, or follow us on Twitter!

Sequined Ashish Sweatpants and Bright Yellow Pumps for New York Fashion Week
With the snow being such a mess and this winter being so cold, I wanted to be comfortable even for New York Fashion Week. I wore my Spring 2014 sequined Ashish sweatpants (NEW SPRING 15 VERSION HERE) and my Michael Kors sweatshirt in a very loose outfit for Nolcha and Hernan Lander shows. I just loved these sweatpants. Want to know why? Well, for one, it is a sweatshirt/sweatpant combo, both super soft and easy to wear! Secondly, sequins just make everything better. Not to mention, they are very big on the Fall 2014 runways. We’ve seen sequins bedazzling the runway from Marc Jacobs, Rodarte, Tom Ford and more.
Paired with bright yellow pumps (Saint Laurent $595 or Carvela $167)Â and my grey Alexander Wang handbag, I had fun with this outfit. Pair them with this Ashish sequined tank top or try another bedazzled sweatpant look with this Marc by Marc Jacobs sequined sweatshirt.
Speaking of comfort, have you entered my winter comfort GIVEAWAY? Only a few days left! I am all about being comfortable and stylish in this horrible winter we are having. Don’t forget to enter and check out more photos of my outfit and favorites from the Hernan Lander show below!

Montauk Beach House Pool Party and Milly Resort 2014 Fashion Presentation

Last weekend I got plenty of sun in the nearly 100 degree weather at the Montauk Beach House. Michelle Smith showed her Milly Resort 2014 Collection in a beautiful fashion presentation by the pool, part of a summer-long music and fashion series hosted by the Montauk Beach House. It was an absolutely gorgeous day and last weekend, I was on the beach or by the pool for 80% of the time!
Singer-songwriter Natalia Kills performed and we enjoyed great drinks and music all Saturday afternoon. I just loved the bright, bold colors in the collection, not to mention that much of it looked really comfortable. Artwork seemed to influence Milly as some of the fabric seemed painted like that on the model above. Crop tops kept cropping up in Milly’s Resort 2014 Collection as well. I don’t think they’re going anywhere.
I wore a pink neon Eres itty-bitty bikini along with an exclusive purple hat from couture milliner Ellen Christine’s Spring 2014 Collection. By the way, if you want a couture hat of your own, she’s giving a 10% discount to blog readers. Just call her showroom and mention the blog.
While there I met a few from the Milly team, spotted some great poolside fashion and ran into Cannon Hodge of Bergdorf Goodman. She and her friend were wearing amazing kaftans from Camilla Franks that should be available at Bergdorfs in a few months. She showed me that this particular kaftan could be tied multiple ways for a causal or dressy look. Looks like it will be available soon at BG for about $500 or so.
Milly’s collection isn’t quite available yet but for some of the looks here, check out my Summer is in the Air Collection or Shopbop’s Best of Summer 2013.
Sincerely Yours,
“Fashionably-Late”
