So, how was your weekend? I recently picked up this Versace crop top (similar here) that I paired with some Naked wardrobe faux leather leggings (similar spanx here) and Loeffler Randal white sandals. I think the outfit is so cute, perfect for the beginning of Spring. There are some gorgeous Versace leggings in the fashion shop as well.

Sammy B. crop top

This summer I’ve been wearing my vintage Sammy B neon green crop top. It’s perfect for the heat and fashion-forward enough to get you noticed. She makes a lot of fun clothes but pay attention, they sell out fast. Sammy B. did Project Runway and has been churning out exciting fashions ever since. Would you do a crop top?

Tanya Taylor Crop Top and Rag & Bone Jeans

So I’ve made a big move. I’m now living in Florida but while still in New York I got together with Mariya for some shots. The weather was warm (hence the Tanya Taylor crop top that I found on sale). It’s hot in Florida so I can wear this outfit almost all year!

These Rag & Bone Simone Denim Pants have been put to great use ever since I got them. They’re light and cute. I just love a dark wash. I paired them with my vintage blue suede Giuseppe Zanotti pumps (similar Manolo Blahnik BB pumps here) and my vintage Marc Jacobs blue handbag. Check out the rest of the photos below!

Summer Casual: African Print Jumper at the MTV VMAs 2013 Song of the Summer Celebration with Jason Derulo and Timeflies

DSC00872

This week I attended one of the MTV VMA Song of Summer Celebration Concerts with Jason Derulo and Timeflies at the Music Hall of Williamsburg. Summer casual was the name of the game as the summer heat made its way ‘back’ to the city. I did my favorite Bebe African Print jumper and Christian Louboutin metallic heels and it was great because it was really hot out!

I met stylists and photographers Rachel and Nicole. Rachel was wearing this great Topshop Motel Skirt I’ve seen everywhere. Anyway, MTV has been doing these concerts all through the week with celebrities like Ciara and Robin Thicke. Are you excited for the VMAs?

Clover Canyon Crop Top Combo at The Social Life Magazine St. Barths Hamptons Gala

DSC00468

Last weekend I also attended the Social Life Magazine St. Barths Hamptons Gala and wore a Clover Canyon crop top combo. Although a bit ‘revealing’ I’m still loving crop tops and by the looks of what’s next for  Resort 2014, they don’t seem to be going anywhere. It was really hot and muggy but I had fun under the tent chatting and checking out the different sponsors. It was a simple look but after a long day of fun in the sun in Montauk it worked.

If you’re in the area, this is a great weekend to skip over to the Hamptons. Russell Simmons will be having his annual Art For Life event honoring Rashid Johnson, Samuel Englebardt, Tyler Perry and more. Maxwell, Rick Ross and Estelle are performing as well. Southampton is also holding its annual Art Fair. I will be staying in the city this weekend to get some work done but you should definitely go out if you can. Check out more of what’s happening here.

Montauk Beach House Pool Party and Milly Resort 2014 Fashion Presentation

DSC00388

Last weekend I got plenty of sun in the nearly 100 degree weather at the Montauk Beach House. Michelle Smith showed her Milly Resort 2014 Collection in a beautiful fashion presentation by the pool, part of a summer-long music and fashion series hosted by the Montauk Beach House. It was an absolutely gorgeous day and last weekend, I was on the beach or by the pool for 80% of the time!

Singer-songwriter Natalia Kills performed and we enjoyed great drinks and music all Saturday afternoon. I just loved the bright, bold colors in the collection, not to mention that much of it looked really comfortable. Artwork seemed to influence Milly as some of the fabric seemed painted like that on the model above. Crop tops kept cropping up in Milly’s Resort 2014 Collection as well. I don’t think they’re going anywhere.

I wore a pink neon Eres itty-bitty bikini along with an exclusive purple hat from couture milliner Ellen Christine’s Spring 2014 Collection. By the way, if you want a couture hat of your own, she’s giving a 10% discount to blog readers. Just call her showroom and mention the blog.

While there I met a few from the Milly team, spotted some great poolside fashion and ran into Cannon Hodge of Bergdorf Goodman. She and her friend were wearing amazing kaftans from Camilla Franks that should be available at Bergdorfs in a few months. She showed me that this particular kaftan could be tied multiple ways for a causal or dressy look. Looks like it will be available soon at BG for about $500 or so.

Milly’s collection isn’t quite available yet but for some of the looks here, check out my Summer is in the Air Collection or Shopbop’s Best of Summer 2013.

Opening Reception at the Milk Gallery for Jonathan Mannion’s Rough Around The Edges Polaroid Photography Exhibit

MannionPhotography_KanyeWest_malindaknowlesnet

This week I stopped by the Milk Gallery for Jonathan Mannion’s Rough Around the Edges Photography Exhibit Opening Reception. Mannion is most known for his iconic Hip Hop photography: the portraits of DMX covered in blood for “Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood,” Ludacris’ “Back For the First Time” album cover, Jay Z’s “Reasonable Doubt,” Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s “Ni**a Please,” and more. Amazingly, his work was done with a Polaroid camera.

The DJ was absolutely amazing and kept the crowd rocking while the crowd sipped to Ciroc cocktails and Red Stripe beer. The crowd was also decked out in their most fashionable summertime party gear and I met a few interesting people. Model Stevie Finedore (pictured below) wore a black and white dress, I saw lots of cutouts and crop tops, and other summer essentials like maxi dressesrompers and printed pants. Check out photos of what they wore and more of Mannion’s photography below. The exhibit is on until July 9th so check it out!
