Kiss & Ride Monokini

This has to be one of the hottest summers on record. It’s been so hot here in South Florida that I’ve had to take multiple showers quite often during the course of one day. This God Save Queens Kiss & Ride Monokini is perfect to cool off in a pool or at the beach. I just love the design and the purple snaps that connect the chest. Down here in Florida, it probably won’t cool off for a while. But if you are up north, enjoy the last dog days of summer and go to a pool near you in this monokini. I’ve collected many bathingsuits living here in Florida and this one just might be one of my favorites. It makes me feel fashionable and sexy at the same time.

Where have you been getting your swimwear this summer? And, which is your favorite?

Proenza Schouler Cutout

Good afternoon! It’s been so hot down here in South Florida that your dresses have got to be breathable. So I’ve been wearing this Proenza Schouler cutout dress that has been somewhat light and airy. I also recently copped these J. W. Anderson leather flats that go with almost everything, a really good buy (shoes and similar below). I pair it with my yellow Rebecca Minkoff handbag which sets off the yellow in the dress. The cutout trend is here to stay for a while, have you picked up on the trend?

Sisterparty Cutout, Sassafras Dinner Date and Doggie Park

So, how was your holiday weekend? It’s been extremely hot here in South Florida, 90s and above every day. Perfect beach weather. I went to Sassafras for dinner with my bae and the food, ambiance and company couldn’t have been more perfect. And this cutout dress from Sisterparty was perfectly cool enough for me to wear in this heat!

We collectively ordered the fried chicken, double smashburger, fried green tomatoes and a key lime mango tart. It’s one of our favorite restaurants in the area. We ended the night with a stroll on the beach and the water was really warm! I also took my dog Vivi to the doggie park and she got really dirty playing in the grass. Lastly, I did some reality tv binge watching of Married at First Sight. Love that show. All in all I had a great weekend, what did you do?

English Rose Sequined Shorts Remix

It’s getting warmer here in South Florida and that means shorts weather. I pulled out these English Rose sequined shorts that I bought some time ago from a boutique in Soho, New York. I was just thinking how much I appreciate small boutiques. You find some of the most unique items to add to your wardrobe! FARFETCH is supporting boutiques around the world with increased visibility, help running their business and a cut to the boutique cost to use their platform by 25%. Take a look at the sale here.

But, anyway, I love these shorts but honestly didn’t get to wear them that much in New York because of the weather. But I’ve kept them and gave my outfit some pizazz with them today. Changed it up and wore them with sneakers. They can easily be dressed up and down. What have you been wearing to run your “essential” errands?

Sincerely,

Three Favorite Foods in West Palm Beach

So, ever since I hit South Florida, the foodie in me has been looking for some of the best eats in town. Well I’ve found a few and I just have to share. Between the fresh seafood, Cubans and Haitians in Florida, you are never without something good to eat.

Anyway so here they are…

1.  Guava and cheese pastry from Tulipan Bakery

Between empanadas, croquetas and these guava and cheese pastries it’s a wonder that I haven’t gained any weight since I’ve been here. Grab a couple of these pastries and some croquetas de jamón for a great breakfast.

2. Twice Baked Potatoes from Pinders Seafood

Geez. I have no idea what they put in these potatoes. On a cheat day, I actually will go for one of these. It has to be potato mixed with cream and cheese and God knows what but it’s soo good! I had them with some shrimp scampi and it was the perfect match.

3. Oyster Shooters from Spoto’s Oyster Bar

If you like oysters with the works…(i.e. horseradish, cocktail sauce) these are some of the best in town. The oysters are really fresh and delicious. You have to pair them with a good glass of wine or a cocktail and you’ll be all set to go.

If you’re in the area, let me know if you’ve tried some of these and if you’re a fan too.

Sincerely,
