Queen Elizabeth II’s Iconic Fashion Moments

What will we do without Queen Elizabeth II? I am deeply saddened by her passing but I know she lived a ripe full life well into her 90s and was very blessed. I wish I could jet over there now. Her work in communities and around the world is highly notable. She even challenged me to fight like a queen and break out of very dangerous, negative situations. Just like a warm, loving grandmother. But, today, I wanted to touch on the fact that she wore beautiful fashion pieces. 

Above you can see her on her Coronotion Day in January 1953, dress by Sir Norman Hartnell.

According to Caroline Rush of the British Fashion Council, many of her outfits will be on display at Buckingham Palace. The Queen’s long-term personal stylist Angela Kelly explained why the Queen often opted for bold color schemes in her 2019 memoir, The Other Side of the Coin: The Queen, The Dresser and the Wardrobe. “The Queen is conscious that she must be easily visible to as many people as possible when she is out and about, so I choose mainly striking colors that will be easily seen,” Kelly wrote.

Queen Elizabeth II was the first monarch to visit Australia in 1954 and she wore this beautiful emerald green dress. She also wore a bright green suit (seen below) along with Meghan Duchess of Sussex to open the new Mersey Gateway Bridge in 2018.

And, lastly, Her Majesty wore a gorgeous wedding gown back in 1947 designed by Sir Norman Hartnell. The dress incorporated 10,000 seed pearls and crystals in an iconographic scheme of national and Commonwealth floral emblems. Her train was 15 feet long and she looked as happy as could be. I’m sure that she is with her husband now Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. Let’s keep the Queen’s memory alive, God Bless the Queen.

Whew! So I have been quite busy but Area has always had some of the most envelope pushing pieces I’ve seen on the runways. This season’s Fall/Winter 2022 Collection is absolutely gorgeous, you can feel like a real Queen in some of their decorative masks, jewelry and garments. Cooling Out

TGIF! I’ve been cooling out and going through old clothes and things getting ready for fashion month. How are y’all doing? The Florida sunset is just gorgeous- I can’t help but take photos. This Gucci top has lasted me well and I remix it with jeans and even my gold pleated skirt (similar here). The beginning of the year is a great time to strategize and regroup, even if it means giving away clothes. I admit to having a nice wardrobe and always feeling like I do not have anything to wear. New Year, new skirt! Not sure if you saw my Instagram stories last year but check out my River Flows mini skirt available on Redbubble.

Problems arise but you have to keep it pushing, don’t believe rumors. Anyway, over the holidays I spent some time in church celebrating Christmas and took some time to relax. Anyway, abstract painting is something I’ve always wanted to try and while I admit I’ve been a bit busy, please enjoy this River Flows mini skirt.

Holiday Bling: Beyoncé Knowles-Carter wears Gucci’s Aria Collection

So the Holidays are upon us. Happy Holidays! Covid-19 is still trying to kick our butts. But we must persevere and enjoy the gift of life in some way. Gucci’s Aria Collection, a collaboration with Balenciaga, looks great on Beyoncé Knowles-Carter in her latest Instagram post. In particular, Nordstrom has a rhinestone version of the Kenley Sandal from Steve Madden that I wore here. It seems that the look is sold out but below you can find some pieces that may do the trick at your next holiday gathering.

Last Call for the M2 “Sunset on a Florida Parking Lot” Collection

Hey there! So designing this collection was amazing and I am so proud of myself. As you may know, I designed a small spring/summer collection inspired by my Sunset on a Florida Parking Lot painting. Well, this is the last call before I make it an archived collection. 

In these photos, I am wearing the Sunset on a Florida Parking Lot skirt as well as bandeau top. They are both on sale and the sequin denim are great for the Fall. And, don’t worry about me, they always say “this too shall pass.”

Ivy Park

Good morning! I’ve been wearing some of Beyoncé’s Ivy Park line that has been really well-designed lately. Workout clothes and even outfits as above have been beautiful. They have all kinds of different sizes for all shapes and they make a woman feel confident and sexy. Looks like Ivy Park is coming out with even more new merchandise under the new Rodeo line.
