Porsha William’s Versace-Inspired Pop Art Dress for Atlanta Pride

Hey y’all, how are you doing? So, I just loved Porsha Williams from the Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Versace-inspired pop art dress that she wore to Atlanta Pride. I’ve been a fan of hers and the Housewives franchise for many years and love watching her on the show. She is also indeed in a relationship with Patrice “Sway” McKinney and stands up for the gay community in Atlanta. 

Anyway, did you see her dress? It was custom made by Rey Ortiz and is a recreation of the 1991 Marilyn Monroe x Andy Warhol Versace pop art printed dress. I believe her face was printed on the dress and shoes. Porsha also wore signature custom jewelry by Emmanuel Constantinos Tsakiris of House of Emmanuele couture jewelry. Just fabulous.

Farewell Olivier Rousteing: Fave Balmain Looks from Recent Years

Good morning! How are you doing? I caught wind of the news that Olivier Rousteing would be stepping down as Creative Director of Balmain and instantly felt a loss. His looks have been some of my favorite looks on the runways for the last few decades. He pushed the limits, reimagined silhouettes, gave garments structure and definition that hadn’t been seen before. I’m sure that his work will be influencing our culture and imagination for years to come. Farewell Olivier. And, well, we can’t wait to see what you do next.

Alero’s Wedding

 

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Bell! My cousin Alero Barrett and DeJuan Bell got married over the Fourth of July weekend and we all had a ball! I don’t know if it was the one year wait, the pandemic shutdown or what but we all cried (happy tears) and partied like never before. The weather was actually a little cool and overcast but I was happy to take it as opposed to severe New York summer heat. Anyway, I wore a Kikiriki lavender tulle dress, a Beauty and the Beast handbag and Steve Madden clear sandals. The bride wore two gorgeous dresses by Diana Mahrach– I was just in love with all the details.

Bows and Animal Print at Alexandre Vauthier Paris SS 2019 Couture Week

Paris Spring/Summer 2019 Couture Week is the stuff of creative dreams. I mean, perhaps couture does not sell as well as ready-to-wear but I hope couture never goes anywhere. And for those of you that scoff and say who would wear that?? Well, try going outside of your comfort zone sometimes and re-envisioning what you wear. It is 2019 after all.

Alexandre Vauthier’s PCW SS 19 runway show was absolutely amazing! From the bows to the animal print, I was just so inspired. Bows are actually a big thing on the runway this week. From Christian Dior to Giambattista Valli and more, bows have been all over the runway. I’m here for the feminine addition. Anyway, check out more photos from the show below!

HATtitude: ArtsWestchester Couture Hat Exhibit Now Until April 12

Remember my Madd Hatter post last year? I had so much fun  playing with hats at Ellen Christine’s showroom, I just had to check out the ArtsWestchester HATtitude Exhibit grand opening last weekend. The show was amazing and if you like hats or think you might want to experiment with hats, you absolutely must check it out!

The show is going on until April 12th. Get inspired!
