Papier-mâché Candle Box

TGIF to you! I recently had some down time and with my artsy self, created a papier-mâché candle box that I plan on gifting to someone special soon. I love candles, aromatherapy and even soft sounds in the background (like the ocean). There’s nothing like a beautiful box to carry a potent and lovely candle to light up a room. As you can see below, I have a collection of candles mostly from Paddywax. The basil and cucumber one is one of my favorites. You can get one of these boxes from your local craft store or here. Just cut up tissue paper and use clear adhesive. Let me know if you make one!

Self-Care during Stressful Times

So, a lot going on right now. It’s important during stressful times to take care of yourself even if it’s a really small thing that you do. Yesterday, I jogged in the park with my dog and it was an absolutely gorgeous day in Florida. It helped to unplug a bit and enjoy nature. So I thought making a list of things you can do to “self-care” during these times might be helpful.

  1. Take some time off from watching the news and other media
  2. Go jogging or walking in the nearest park
  3. If you’re creative, take some time to paint or sketch. You can do this with the whole family.
  4. Take a bubble bath
  5. Light a lovely aromatherapy candle. I really like those from Paddywax
  6. Cook or bake something new, this can also be a family activity
  7. Great time for game night in the house with your partner or family

Basil Cucumber Candle from Paddywax

Hey y’all! Hope you’re having a good week.

I just love working to the scent of these Paddywax candles! I can’t get enough of them. I’m currently burning a Basil Cucumber candle and it smells so good. I have a whole collection- Thyme Olive Leaf, Eucalyptus Sage, and Blood Orange Bergamot.

They help me with my creative juices and concentration. Nothing like good aromatherapy. Try one!
