We Still Have a Dream

Well, it’s Martin Luther King Jr. day. January has been flying by and here we are. Do you still have a dream? I know I do. I was lucky to be raised in Washington, D.C. at an international elementary school that taught me at an early age to appreciate different races, cultures and religions. I learned Spanish and English at the same time and I truly appreciate my family for sending me to such a school.

I know a lot of people aren’t lucky enough to say the same. They learn from an early age to discriminate against others for the color of their skin, religion, where they live or who their grandparents were. It’s unfortunate but I do believe that even if you were raised to be some kind of bigot, you can change. You don’t have to be like your parents on grandparents.

In this age where the President is focused on forcing illegal immigrants out of the country, creating chaos and even deaths, let’s all remember that we all bleed the same color. And, there is no skin color differential in heaven or hell. So, today we honor you Dr. King. What are you doing to make this world a better place?

Sincerely,

“Fashionably-Late”
