New Mom? Fall 2023 Styles Just For You

Hey y’all! I recently had a conversation with my cousin in Texas who said she just sometimes had trouble finding good clothes for her body since she has had kids. She had several including twins, I remember when she first made the family announcement that she was expecting. What a joyous time.

So, anyway, I thought I would put together a few suggestions that are great for a new mom or just a tired one. These are right in line with the new Fall 2023 trends and will cover you up in the right places. Just remember you and your new family are beautiful, men could never deal with a pregnancy. We are strong!

Black Leather Remix 2

Happy Tuesday folks! So recently I was unfortunately looking to wear all black for a memorial and pulled out some of my black leather items. Believe it or not, winter descended upon South Florida. Black leather not only keeps you warm but it can be very stylish. And, you can mix them up as they make great classic pieces. I wore a Bailey 44 top (similar CAMI NYC Camisole here) and a vintage Catherine Malandrino skirt (similar pencil skirt on sale here) with Jessica Simpson heels. For a little drama, you can always pair a black leather look with a big black hat (similar Gucci hat here) as seen below.

Tibi Asymmetric Yellow Skirt in Downtown Miami

Happy New Year! Hope you had a great holiday. So believe it or not, the temperature can drop in Florida. LOL It gets into the 50s sometimes. Now I know what you’re thinking. That’s nothing. But this wool yellow Tibi assymetric skirt (similar here) and black cashmere sweater (similar here and on sale) are just the thing for those winter days in Florida. There’s not that many winter days in Florida but you get the point!

I paired the outfit with my classic vintage Prada booties and loved it. This is actually an outfit you can take to the office and out for drinks at happy hour if you so please. And if you’re up north, yellow will definitely give you a little energy in the midst of all that grey and snow.

Anyway, happy 2019! Check out more photos below!

Three Snow Boots for Winter 2016

CZbbpKZVAAEhh6Z.jpg-large

So, I’m snowed in like everyone else in the Northeast right now. Jonas is not exactly a blizzard here in New York but it’s definitely dumping a lot of snow on us. I mean, I can’t even see outside too well because of this snow. Anyway, this kind of weather calls for some great snow boots. And why not be cute while you stay warm this winter? Check out these boots below and even more winter accessories here.

Marc Jacobs Fall/Winter Hot Pants

malinda_knowles_PEM_2988

marc jacobs hot pantsBy now, you’ve probably heard that we are experiencing an extremely warm winter here in New York. It’s been about 65 degrees and I am praying that it stays that way! In honor of this beautiful weather, I decided to try those impractical-looking hot pants you’ve seen on the runway for the fall/winter? I first spotted them in Marc Jacob’s Fall 2013 fashion show (with the giant sun below) and thought they were fabulous but in that snow, I just didn’t see it happening.

Well, I love these Marc Jacobs hot pants and you can pair them with those see-through skirts to make a bold statement. Not for the faint of heart but absolutely fabulous.

Sequined Ashish Sweatpants and Bright Yellow Pumps for New York Fashion Week

mfkatmbfwmalinda_bedazzled_ashish

With the snow being such a mess and this winter being so cold, I wanted to be comfortable even for New York Fashion Week. I wore my Spring 2014 sequined Ashish sweatpants (NEW SPRING 15 VERSION HERE) and my Michael Kors sweatshirt in a very loose outfit for Nolcha and Hernan Lander shows. I just loved these sweatpants. Want to know why? Well, for one, it is a sweatshirt/sweatpant combo, both super soft and easy to wear! Secondly, sequins just make everything better. Not to mention, they are very big on the Fall 2014 runways. We’ve seen sequins bedazzling the runway from Marc Jacobs, Rodarte, Tom Ford and more.

Paired with bright yellow pumps (Saint Laurent $595 or Carvela $167and my grey Alexander Wang handbag, I had fun with this outfit. Pair them with this Ashish sequined tank top or try another bedazzled sweatpant look with this Marc by Marc Jacobs sequined sweatshirt.

Speaking of comfort, have you entered my winter comfort GIVEAWAY? Only a few days left! I am all about being comfortable and stylish in this horrible winter we are having. Don’t forget to enter and check out more photos of my outfit and favorites from the Hernan Lander show below!

Catherine Malandrino Silver Metallic Moto Jacket and Black Woven Leather Dress

rooftop_malandrinoSo I’m completely tired of winter. Snow on snow. Ice. Slipping. Cancellations.

But there’s nothing like a silver metallic moto jacket and cute black Catherine Malandrino dress to spice up a winter day.

The groundhog saw its shadow so we have at least six more weeks of winter to go. Cute winter clothes are what will get us through!

Face Masks Could Keep Us Warm in the Winter

freaky-fashion-paris-fall-winter-2012-martin-margiela-the-flying-tortoise

Being that we’re having one of the roughest winters in the city for the past few years, face masks could actually be the thing to keep us warm. When the Polar Vortex hit and it was about 9 degrees with a wind chill of -20, I saw many people trying to cover their faces with a scarf or pull down a hood. But, let’s face it. Our faces were cold. According to Daily Mail UK and other reports, Chinese women have worn face masks for years to protect themselves from the sun. Supposedly for them it’s about status and skin color. But, what if it was simply a fashion statement?

givenchybeautyGivenchy and Martin Maison Margiela have debuted these interesting looks on the runway and like it or not, face masks have to be one of the most creative trends we’ve seen in the past few years. Kanye West wore face masks on his Yeezus concert tour. He is never one to shy away from a new trend but hey, would you try it? Assuming you can see through them, they stretch and are somewhat comfortable, face masks might be a new way to go. And, if they can keep us warm in 20 below Polar Vortex wind chill factors, why not?
