Flowers Everyday

(c) Malinda Knowles, “Flowers Everyday”

I completed a new painting entitled “Flowers Everyday.” There’s nothing to kick up the romance like fresh flowers everyday. And, don’t we all want some love. Anyway, you can grab some cool items that feature this painting if you like it. And there’s even more here (t-shirts, etc). Enjoy!

April Showers Bring May Flowers

It was storming here yesterday. It rained cats and dogs. And from what I hear it is still snowing/slushing in some parts of the North. Well, you know what they say. April showers bring May flowers. And one of my favorite flowers are tulips. People sleep on tulips! But they are so pretty.

Anyway Spring usually promises a lot of rain. Do you have a raincoat? If not or if you just want a new one, check out these cute ones below from Vetements, Proenza Schouler and Moncler

Southern, Sweet Lemonade

IMG_0481

As I take in BeyoncĂ©’s new project Lemonade, I find myself enjoying time in the South as well. South Florida may be tropical but if you really know it, it’s the “dirty South.” Lemonade speaks to me in that it is all about the plight of the black woman working and living in an unjust society. Love, marriage, babies it covers everything about womanhood- especially that of a black woman.

There’s nothing like the South to get you thinking about our nation’s history, the culture and the segregation. Although I’ve been frying conch fritters, I’ve been eating just as many collard greens. And with this new album, I’m just that much more proud to be from the South.

Flowers and Straps for Spring 2016 by Marina Hoermanseder

I came across this beautiful collection available for pre-order on ModaOperandi recently. The designer’s name is Marina Hoermanseder and she simply created a fashion flower field fantasy land of a collection. The items are just lovely and as feminine as you can get. Wear to tea or brunch with the ladies or just on a day out. Just breathtaking.
