Whew! So I have been quite busy but Area has always had some of the most envelope pushing pieces I’ve seen on the runways. This season’s Fall/Winter 2022 Collection is absolutely gorgeous, you can feel like a real Queen in some of their decorative masks, jewelry and garments. The colors are bright and bold and you can make sure to be a showstopper in these outfits. Watch the full video here and happy New York Fashion Week!
Happy Thursday and Happy Holidays everyone! I have been working a lot recently but was able to catch a Holiday Happy Hour at the office. The theme of course-ugly Christmas Sweaters! Everyone had on their favorite overdone Christmas sweater and we had fun. They had shots of Peppermint Smirnoff and Godiva Chocolate Liquer with whipped cream. I didn’t try one but I heard they were good. They also had a charcuterie tray, chips and cookies too. If you are invited to one of these, there’s a few sweaters below that will make you the star of the party (below).
Today is Día de Los Muertos or “Day of the Dead.” It’s important to honor your ancestors and those that paved the way for you to be here today. I’m wearing my Kimchi black see-through skirt today and feeling regal. Later today I’m definitely going to go through some old photo albums. What are you doing to celebrate those that came before you today?
Hoy es Día de Los Muertos or “Day of the Dead.” Es muy importante honor tus antepasados quienes allanó el camino para que ustedes estén aquí hoy. Estoy usando mi negro Kimchi falday me siento royal. Hey there! So designing this collection was amazing and I am so proud of myself. As you may know, I designed a small spring/summer collection inspired by my Sunset on a Florida Parking Lot painting. Well, this is the last call before I make it an archived collection.
In these photos, I am wearing the Sunset on a Florida Parking Lotskirt as well as bandeau top. They are both on sale and the sequin denim are great for the Fall. And, don’t worry about me, they always say “this too shall pass.”
Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Bell! My cousin Alero Barrett and DeJuan Bell got married over the Fourth of July weekend and we all had a ball! I don’t know if it was the one year wait, the pandemic shutdown or what but we all cried (happy tears) and partied like never before. The weather was actually a little cool and overcast but I was happy to take it as opposed to severe New York summer heat. Anyway, I wore a Kikiriki lavender tulle dress, a Beauty and the Beast handbag and Steve Madden clear sandals. The bride wore two gorgeous dresses by Diana Mahrach– I was just in love with all the details.
Happy Fashion Month! So I’ve seen a few cozy white coats on the runway and I just love them. The above Alyx ensemble looks like a snowy winter dream. And this Bevza coat looks so warm and comfortable. There’s nothing like wearing white in the dead of winter. Check out another Ambush coat below!
So I just had to take another look at all of the beautiful fashion on display at Joe Biden’s Inauguration Day ceremony. Michelle Obama looks absolutely amazing in Sergio Hudson, a Black designer from South Carolina. Dr. Jill Biden wore an ocean-blue wool tweed coat over a dress by American designer Alexandra O’Neill of the Markarian label. And, Vice President Kamala Harris wore a purple outfit by a young black designer Christopher John Rogers.
Jennifer Lopez sang in a Chanel number and Lady Gaga stunned in a gorgeous Schiaparelli design. Lastly, a young poet laureate Amanda Gorman wore a yellow Prada coat. It was a moment that will go down in history. Congratulations to Vice President Kamala Harris and President Biden!
