Odd Silhouettes and Shapes at Alexander McQueen Fall/Winter 2024

So, this fashion month Alexander McQueen showcased some strong, odd shapes and silhouettes on the runway for Fall/Winter 2024. I’m just loving the experimentation with shapes- widened hips, different necklines and broadened shoulders. Below shows a great padded shoulder and broadened shoulders from the men and women’s Spring 2024 show. And I just love some of the oversized sweaters and coats that were on the runway as well. What do you think? Would you try wearing any of these shapes?

Karl Lagerfeld Pearl Chain Boots + Denim Skirt

So recently I stumbled upon a Karl Lagerfeld store at a nearby outlet mall and had no idea that the store was in West Palm Beach. Their items are cute and makes me wish that Karl was still alive. What a legend, right? From their button down tops to chain and pearl boots, the store will excite you about Karl’s legacy. Recently wore this Karl Lagerfeld t-shirt, Mother denim skirt (not similar but very cute Aknvas Rivington ruffled skirt here) , lace-up and Karl Lagerfeld pearl chain boots and a vintage black Rebecca Minkoff purse (similar here). The boots remind me of Chanel’s 2013 chain boots featured on the runway here.

Future of E-Commerce

So, years ago I said I wanted my own brick and mortar store to sell some of my designs and art merchandise. Well, I am not upset that I never opened a store (not to say it might not be in my future) but for now, e-commerce is great.

Did you know that by 2026, 24% of retail purchases will be done online?  The global e-commerce market is expected to total over $8.1 trillion dollars by 2026. No one can argue that online shopping isn’t easy even though folks abandon their shopping carts over shipping fees or slow delivery times. Amazon has the highest market share of all e-commerce accounting for about 38% of all online sales. Next come Walmart, eBay and Target.1

I’m almost positive that 2020’s Covid epidemic also boosted online sales as many people tried to avoid interacting with others. And, of course, Cyber Monday and Black Friday seriously grows every year. Last year, Adobe Analytics reported a record $9.8 billion in Black Friday sales and $12.4 billion for Cyber Monday.2 Anyone selling anything these days would be foolish not to also sell online.

Now, don’t get me wrong, the in-store experience will always be there. Trying things on, having a sales associate fetch a different size or help style you will always have its appeal. But as we go about this thing called life, I would have to say, getting a package in the mail excites me just as much or even more than going into stores. What do you prefer?

Sincerely,

Andreeva 2 ways

Happy Thursday folks! It’s been kind of chilly here in West Palm Beach and these Andreeva pieces have been amazing for a work day. The skirt above is fabulous and on sale now. I picked up this turtleneck and paired it with the two different skirts and just love the looks. I paired them with these clear Steve Madden sandals (similar here). Wore some purple lipstick to finish the look. Andreeva really pushes the creative limits with their clothing that should probably always get you a compliment. They are out of New York but they ship worldwide. What do you think of these two looks?

Black Milk Bubble Tea

One of my favorite drinks that I stumbled upon while living in New York is Black Milk Bubble Tea… It has tapioca balls at the bottom to help when you take a gulp. It’s kind of sweet and has a bit of caffeine to pep you up. Did a little business today in my blue Zara suit and stopped by to grab a bubble tea. In the city, my favorite place for bubble tea is Vivi Bubble Tea but this spot here in West Palm Beach is called Art of Boba. They also sell an amazing green waffle. Go grab one today!

Furry Bags and Shoes at the Moncler NYFW FW 2024 Show

So, happy New York Fashion Week! On the Moncler Grenoble Fall/Winter 2024 runway, furry bags and shoes were included in many of the looks. Other brands like Louis Vuitton (pictured on Kim Kardashian below) have picked up on the trend as well. I found a few fur boots (below) that you can grab now, check them and other looks from the Moncler runway.

Fireflies at Rahul Mishra Spring 2024 Couture Show

And just like that, its Haute Couture Spring 2024 week in Paris, France. Rahul Mishra vacations close to the Himalayan forest and drew inspiration from insects and wildlife. I just love the collection, how fun is this? Take a look below for some of my favorite looks.

NYC Restaurant Week: Top 3 Must-Try Favorites

Estiatorio Milos’ Milos Special

Hey there! So it’s been a little bit of time since I was in the city but I just had to share some of my favorite restaurants participating in New York Restaurant Week from January 16 to February 4th. If you’re not familiar with the week, restaurants provide discounts and prix-fixe menus so that you can have a somewhat less expensive dining experience.

So, here are my top three favorite restaurants in New York that are participating in Restaurant Week.

Estiatorio Milos – has some of the city’s best Greek food, some of the fish and other produce are flown in on a daily basis from the Mediterranean

Estiatorio Milos’ Loup de mer
Philippe Chow Chicken Satays

Phillippe Chow – upscale Chinese restaurant with some of the best chicken satays and peking duck I’ve ever had

Red Rooster Fried Yardbird

Red Rooster Marcus Samuelsson created a Harlem staple some time ago and I just love Red Rooster. Forget the decor and the music, the Southern American food is just delicious. The deviled eggs, fried chicken, collard greens and cornbread are some of my fave dishes.

Are you going anywhere for New York Restaurant Week?

Sincerely,
