Mother’s Day Memories

What are you doing for Mother’s Day? It’s May 13 for those that don’t know. And it’s coming up very soon! One of my favorite Mother’s Days was back in 2009 (pictured above). My grandmother, mother and I went to church early and then went to The Breakers Hotel (pictured below) for a fabulous fancy Mother’s Day brunch. Everything you could think of was there to eat plus a steady flow of unlimited mimosas. It was a day I’ll never forget. I lost my grandmother in 2010 and dream about her all the time. If you are lucky enough to still have your mother or grandmother enjoy the day!

And what better way to celebrate with a nice gift? Inspire her to stay active with a fitbit or go for a nice hat. It will definitely come in handy this summer. For the wine aficionados, check out the wine decanter and glasses below. Finally as a last resort, you can always just buy a gift card. Happy shopping!

White Theory Dress and Tom Ford Zebra Heels

So while in Palm Beach the other day I stumbled upon a fabulous little shopping center where Kirna Zabete has recently opened a store. I’m a big fan of Kirna Zabete from seeing their stores in New York. One thing I have to say is that Palm Beach knows how to do landscaping. The flowers and plants in this little shopping center were gorgeous.

Anyway, I love wearing this vintage Theory dress on a sunny Florida day. They go perfectly with these white BaubleBar earrings (similar below) and my vintage Tom Ford zebra heels. The dress also does well with my white Proenza Schouler handbag which has been a gem this spring. Check out more photos below!

April Showers Bring May Flowers

It was storming here yesterday. It rained cats and dogs. And from what I hear it is still snowing/slushing in some parts of the North. Well, you know what they say. April showers bring May flowers. And one of my favorite flowers are tulips. People sleep on tulips! But they are so pretty.

Anyway Spring usually promises a lot of rain. Do you have a raincoat? If not or if you just want a new one, check out these cute ones below from Vetements, Proenza Schouler and Moncler

Wish List: Five Spring Chanel Bags

                                                                            Chanel Flag Bag, $4000

So spring has sprung and I recently came across a few Chanel handbags that were just so cute! Chanel bags can be expensive but they are worth the investment. Yes, some of them are trends of the moment but you’d be surprised how vintage Chanel bags can transcend time. Sequins and plastic are definitely a thing for Spring 2018. But I’m sure these bags will still be fabulous in the future. Check them out below and contact me for more information!

                                                                            Chanel Backpack, $3400
                                                                           Chanel’s Gabrielle Hobo Bag, $5000
                                                                            Chanel Flap Bag, $2600
                                                                        Chanel Classic Handbag, $11400

House of Holland Patchwork Dress

Happy Spring! Although it may not feel like spring everywhere, I welcome the season. Believe it or not it gets a little chilly in Florida when it’s cold up north. This long-sleeved House of Holland dress is perfect for that in between weather. I paired it with my Steve Madden sneaker heels for a downtown city look.

The dress is sold out but check out these other patchwork print designs from House of Holland

Three Favorite Foods in West Palm Beach

So, ever since I hit South Florida, the foodie in me has been looking for some of the best eats in town. Well I’ve found a few and I just have to share. Between the fresh seafood, Cubans and Haitians in Florida, you are never without something good to eat.

Anyway so here they are…

1.  Guava and cheese pastry from Tulipan Bakery

Between empanadas, croquetas and these guava and cheese pastries it’s a wonder that I haven’t gained any weight since I’ve been here. Grab a couple of these pastries and some croquetas de jamón for a great breakfast.

2. Twice Baked Potatoes from Pinders Seafood

Geez. I have no idea what they put in these potatoes. On a cheat day, I actually will go for one of these. It has to be potato mixed with cream and cheese and God knows what but it’s soo good! I had them with some shrimp scampi and it was the perfect match.

3. Oyster Shooters from Spoto’s Oyster Bar

If you like oysters with the works…(i.e. horseradish, cocktail sauce) these are some of the best in town. The oysters are really fresh and delicious. You have to pair them with a good glass of wine or a cocktail and you’ll be all set to go.

If you’re in the area, let me know if you’ve tried some of these and if you’re a fan too.

Gucci Mystic Cat T-Shirt

While some are dealing with snow, I’ve been enjoying sunny South Florida. While there is definitely not as much to do as New York (and I definitely miss the city sometimes), I welcome the change of pace. Palm Beach is really beautiful and there’s nothing like a good t-shirt and jeans combo when to hang around town. I saw this Gucci Mystic Cat T-shirt on Farfetch and the sequined cat just got me. I absolutely love this shirt and they go great with my Zara ripped jeans (similar here) and blue Marc Jacobs handbag. The shirt is actually sold out but there’s several other cute ones.

I also wore this interlaced Gucci ring that I adore as well- a pineapple, a monkey and an emerald. Check out photos of the ring and more below and if you’re up north, consider a trip to sunny Florida for a break!

Sara Battaglia Spring 2018 Sequined Skirt

So sequins have been in for a while now (hello Ashish) and they’re definitely big for this spring. Sequins can be dressed up or down depending on what you pair them with. This Sara Battaglia skirt caught my eye. I’m just a sucker for sequins. Throw it on with a sweatshirt or t-shirt and some sneakers like the photo above and boom, you have a casual look with some major pizzaz. If you love it like I do, hurry up because there’s only a few left!

Oscar de la Renta

The New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2018 Collections have featured many bright colors, especially bright red. It seems that every designer this season has some kind of red in their collection. I guess it’s time to refresh that black and grey that we always have in our fall/winter wardrobes and spice it up with some color. Check out more of these bright red designs below.
