Here’s a painting of mine featuring cornrows in the light. Black beauty and hair are so special and unique. It’s part of our culture that dates back several ages. We are all really descendants of Kings and Queens. Hope you’re having a great day!
The handbags on the runway for this past New York Fashion Week’s Delpozo Fall/Winter 2017 show were just gorgeous! The detail on these are beautiful, I can’t wait to see them retail. Delpozo is one of my favorite brands, they are always very creative. Check out more of the bags below!
So I just love sequins. As a bigAshish fan, I’d find any excuse to wear sequins and would wear it for just about anything. It’s a great way to brighten up an otherwise dull winter wardrobe and that’s just what designers had in mind for New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2017. Milly, Jeremy Scott, Alexander Wang and more all featured a sequined item or two in their fall/winter collections. I just love these pieces.
Well it’s snowing today after a 50 degree temperature yesterday! What a mess this weather is. To beat the winter blues, I like to use a pop of color. Last year, I picked up this blue Topshop coat from Nordstrom(similar blue Harris Wharf London coat here) to give me that boost among the hum drum of black and grey in my closet. It’s not the warmest coat ever but it works. I also wore vintagesilver metallic Lanvin sneakers, Zara jeans (similar here) and an Alexander Wang handbag (similar black one here). Check out a few other coats to brighten up your winter wardrobe.
Although I won’t be able to go, today is the Black Fashion Designers Symposium at the Museum at Fashion Institute of Technology. Black Fashion Designers, the current accompanying exhibition, examines the impact that black fashion designers have had on fashion and culture. June Ambrose, Carly Cushnie and Michelle Ochs, Bethann Hardison and more will be joining today. Don’t miss the livestream here!
This weekend I attended Create & Cultivate Style Summit in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. It’s part of a much larger Underground Lauderdale event whose second part is in March. There were numerous panelists talking everything from blogging to Instagram to working full-time in fashion. Natalie Suarez from Natalie Off Duty and her sister Dylana Suarez spoke as well as model Rocky Barnes. There was a fun styling challenge and a cocktail hour. We had a great time.
